I found some beautiful guided audio meditations online that, while not specifically about angels, include them. They are for celebrating peace, especially on New Year’s Eve and Day. I think they’re wonderful for anytime, though. Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer created them.

The glow of angels is all around us all the time, but how many of us actually allow ourselves to enter into it?

For the last couple of days I have been practicing the exercises in a book called Transforming Stress: The Heartmath Solution For Relieving Worry, Fatigue, And Tension by Doc Childre and Deborah Rozman. The exercises seem to be working very well and are a kind of simple meditation that you can do anytime, anywhere. If I tell any more I’ll be giving it away and probably breaking copyright laws. The fascinating part of it, for me, is that they are based on recent finds in biological research of the heart and mind which seem to validate a lot of “woo woo” spiritual pursuits. So much for woo woo. 😉

So…that’s the back story. On to the good stuff.

I just had an insight while meditating as to the way I’ve been with angels and I feel like I should share it here in case it resonates with anyone else. I was aware of an inner sanctuary, something I’ve become more clear about in the last week. And in that sanctuary were angels who had a warm glow about them which made me feel exactly as I felt as a little girl when standing in the glow of the Christmas tree each year. I still enjoy the lights at Christmas very much, but I think somewhere along the line I lost that feeling of hope in my heart that I had as a girl. The glow seemed to hold so much promise and magic.

What the angels showed me just now is that they have that place in my heart as well, but I don’t let myself go there. I see them easily in my mind, and sense them in my heart, but I don’t let myself be in their presence all the way to the point where I’m in the middle of the glow. My analytical mind says right away that it’s because of too many disappointments as an adult, and even worse, the withdrawal pangs when I have to leave that glow and go about daily life.

The sense I’m getting as I write this is that there is a way to stay in that glow and it doesn’t have to be so far removed from reality. It’s just a different kind of reality. And the way to get it is to start letting myself enjoy the promise and the magic of the angel’s light.

All you have to do is intend to receive the attunement and you will. I’ve been saying this for months now to the people who accepted my invitation for archangel attunements by e-mailing me. I’ve said elsewhere that I don’t really do anything, that it is the angels and other parts of your consciousness who do the attunements. It has seemed helpful for people to have someone to ask for it to be done, however, so I have taken the e-mails.

Now the time has come for you to accept that you can be attuned to the angels just be wanting to be. From there you can learn to communicate and form relationships with the angels in many different ways. Yes, the attunement is still a part of the process, but it isn’t necessarily an instantaneous experience. In fact, it’s better if it isn’t. The attunement is just a strengthening, an upgrading, of a connection that is already in place. If you are reading this, it has already been done.

I have recently started re-reading a book I’ve had in my library since the early 1990’s. I was amazed at what an influence it had on me. Here I’ve been talking about angel attunements and self-attunements and there is an entire chapter on just that in this book. It’s available for very little on Amazon (as low as a penny US plus S&H for used copies). Click on the link below to see more.

Commune With the Angels: A Heavenly Handbook

by Jayne Howard Feldman

I think it is a very valuable book even though it has been around since early on in the recent era of interest in angels. There is a guided meditation included in each chapter. While Doreen Virtue strikes me as kind of the “Rachel Ray” of angel communication, Jayne Feldman is the “Julia Child”. Below is the table of contents which demonstrates how practical the book is.

Believe in the Angels
Learn About the Angels
Meditate With the Angels
Pray with the Angels
Share With the Angels
Healing with the Angels
Honor the Angelic Presence in All Life
Attune to the Angels
Expect Angelic Blessings
Be an Angel

I felt inspired to create a new yahoo group today for the purpose of having a group share of archangel reiki energy. It’s my own variation of reiki, but I am attuned to Usui Reiki Level II and a Kundalini Reiki Master.

This is a group open to anyone interested in opening their channels of communication with the archangels and who would like to join in a daily energy sharing circle. It is my intent that you will be able to join with the group energetically whenever it is convenient for you and we will all benefit. You don’t have to send archangel energy daily to the group, but you will certainly receive it daily.

You do not have to be attuned to Reiki to be in the group. I will attune each person who joins the group to my own variation of Reiki which comes through the archangels.

I’d like to keep posting to the group confined to positive-toned messages, mainly about your experiences with the group’s energy and the archangel energy. It’s very easy for a group like this to turn into a giant whine and sympathy fest. None of us has time for that because frankly, the archangels have bigger plans for us!

If you want to do a brief check-in each day and let us know where you’re at that’s great, but no petitions for reiki or energy for any specific purposes. You’re getting help from the archangels just by being in the group and that’s enough.  You are getting what you need the most right now.

I’ve just been tuning into the “angel channel” and I’ve been inspired with a visualization to help the angels help you while you sleep. I was thinking about the periodic nightmares I have when I saw with my inner eye exactly what to do.

Here’s what to do:

Anytime during the day that you can close your eyes and meditate or daydream for a little bit, or even just before you go to sleep at night, visualize yourself sleeping as though you are looking through the angels eyes. See the angels around you as beings of light surrounding you, perhaps even resting their hands on your chakras, or energy centers.  You don’t have to know exactly what the angels are doing.  Simply watch as though you are watching a movie.

And that’s all there is to it! Enjoy.

After years of skirting around starting a meditation practice, I finally found a book that made meditating make sense to me, minus the various spiritual trappings I’ve run into in the past. The One Minute Meditator by David Nichol, M.D. and Bill Birchard presents meditation in a practical, easy-to-do method. It’s meditation unplugged, a foundation from which you could go on to add yoga or buddhism or any of the spiritual practices I usually associate with meditation.

The book covers a lot of ground in a short time, but what strikes me the most is the idea that it’s good for you – physically, mentally, emotionally, and yes, spiritually – even when you don’t feel like it’s working. The “relaxation response” goes into effect the moment you start paying attention to your breathing. The longer you spend even just trying to pay attention to your breathing and/or your thoughts without reacting to them – every little moment you succeed at it actually makes you more healthy. It’s like building a muscle. So, when you’re standing in line at the grocery story you can pay attention to your breathing and even that much time increases your ability to relax. For some people it starts so deep they don’t notice much at first, but it’s working anyway.

That got me to thinking about ART. I’m certain it works the same way. I struggle a lot with doing art. I have a lot of perfectionist expectations built in that makes it very hard to just relax and enjoy myself. These mechanisms have been in place for 40 years or more, so it’s hard to just undo them. Thanks to the continual support of my boyfriend I’ve been able to do art on a daily basis for the first time in my life for the last few months. My life has changed for the better. I thought it was just that I felt better because I was finally “doing art” instead of fretting over not doing it. But now I think that perhaps it works on a deeper level, exactly like meditation.

Scholars tell us that when humans first started making art it was for magical purposes, such as to heal an illness or call in animals for food. It is thought that just by looking at an image on a cave wall a person was healed. The way meditation works on the body is mysterious and magical, too, even with scientific evidence that it is working, especially with illness. All you have to do is breathe. (I haven’t looked into it yet, but I’m sure there’s a direct correlation between meditation and the “law of attraction”.)

Art therapy is a profession which uses art to heal. I’m sure there is a wealth of material already written by art therapists about how art is a form of meditation. Art therapy, however, is usually intended for those who are really dysfunctional. What if art “therapy” is just as useful in everyday life for everybody; even happy, healthy people who want to stay that way?

I’ve said in an earlier post that I struggle with the idea that angels are separate entities. Now I’m wondering if ANGELS are part of this mysterious process that happens when a person meditates (or creates). I can’t see my blood pressure lower when I pay attention to myself, but it does. I can’t see angels around me, but I can feel a big wave of unconditional love wash over me with no obvious outside source. Perhaps just by paying attention to angels, even if you don’t believe in them, even if it seems like nothing is happening, your attention does bring them into your life, one way or another, and you can get help in ways you never dreamed possible.

Try any or all of the above and let me know how it goes. I’m curious to know if it’s just me who is making this connection.
